About Us

Message From the Principal...

Hello and welcome to GREEN Upstate High School!

It is both a privilege and an honor to join GREEN Upstate High School as your new principal. Throughout my career, one purpose has guided every step I have taken: serving others and helping people reach their full potential.

My journey to education has been anything but traditional. Before becoming an educator, I served in the United States Marine Corps, where I learned the values of discipline, integrity, teamwork, and servant leadership. Those lessons continue to shape the way I lead today.

After my military service, I discovered my passion for education. I have had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those facing significant challenges in both the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice and the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Those experiences reinforced my belief that every student can succeed when surrounded by caring adults who set high expectations while providing meaningful support and encouragement.

Outside of school, I am first and foremost a husband and father. Growing up in a military family and later serving in the Marine Corps taught me the importance of service, resilience, and building strong communities. Those experiences continue to shape both my personal life and my leadership, reminding me that every student deserves to feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

As an educator and school leader, I believe the foundation of every successful school is strong relationships. Students learn best when they feel safe, respected, and challenged to grow. My leadership philosophy is simple: be firm, fair, and consistent while fostering accountability, restorative practices, and a positive school culture.

I also believe great schools are built through collaboration. My role as principal is to support our teachers, partner with families, and create an environment where students and staff can thrive together.

GREEN Upstate High School has a strong tradition of academic excellence and innovation, and I am excited to become part of this outstanding community. My goal is to build upon that foundation by fostering a culture where every student is challenged to achieve their highest potential and prepared for success in college, careers, military service, or whatever path they choose after graduation.

As we begin this new chapter together, I am committed to listening, learning, and leading with integrity. I believe the best schools are built through trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to student success. I look forward to getting to know our students, families, staff, and community, and I am honored to serve as your principal. Together, I know we will continue building a school where high expectations, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to excellence inspire every student to succeed. While I bring my own experiences and leadership philosophy, I also know that every school has its own strengths and traditions. My first priority is going to be to listen, learn, and build relationships so we can continue moving GREEN Upstate High School forward together.

I am honored to serve as your principal, and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together. Thank you, and Go Owls!
